71 Ounces Of Medical Marijuana Is Barely Enough Hi, I am Rick Vapor and I support medical marijuana. Not only by theory, but by using cannabis as medicine for Migraine headache for years. Living in California allowed me introduction into the medical marijuana, but it would quickly become my main topic of interest as I firmly believe it has helped me live a better life, and will continue to do so as I age. As someome who has used cannabis for extended periods of time during points in my life, I can honestly say that seventy-one ounces of medical marijuana for a two-month supply is barely enough for someone who has to consume medical marijuana daily. According to 71 Ounces For 2 Months - it says, "Patients said 71 ounces is how much someone who is in severe pain would have to eat to get as much active ingredients from the plants as they would from a prescription substitute called Marinol." And that is very true, the amount of compressed synthetic THC (one of the many active ingredients in marijuana) in one of those little pills is enough to keep many pain-free - however for a patient to achieve that same level of doseage from the plant in its natural form a patient must have at least seventy-one ounces for a two-month supply. Why So Much Marijuana? Well, because many patients choose to use cannabis in it's cooked form, the amount of plant matter needed to produce the pain-numbing effects of medical-grade cannabis, you need at least 10g - 20g per day, sometimes more. |
For example many cancer patients suffer from nausea from chemotherapy, and choose not to smoke or inhale marijuana - so despite the non-carcinogenic nature of using a vaporizer, these patients choose to cook the cannabis into something they can actually eat and it relieves them of nasty stomach pain and nausea. In addition to the above reason, if you had to take five 10g cannabis pills in a day, that would give you a dose of at least 50g worth of active THC - this is why many who have been prescribed cannabis-based pills report the lack of "control over their dose." By using a vaporizer, or eating their medicine patients felt more control over how much they were taking and didn't feel they couldn't perform day-to-day activities because they were too "out of it" from the effects of 50g of THC containing plant matter. Keep in mind, 50g of cannabis does not equate to 50g of medicine (the amount of THC actually in the substance) - just because you smoke 10g of cannabis, does not mean you just took in 10g of actual THC. "Its margin of safety is immense and underscores the lack of any meaningful danger in using not only daily doses in the 3.5 to 9 gram range, but also considerably higher doses" says David Bearman, M.D. Physician, researcher, and court-qualified cannabis expert. What I write comes from my own experience and research on the subject. I am not a doctor, nor do I pretend to be one. I just support the use of marijuana as a natural, effective, and safe medicine. The plantCannabis is a plant put on this planet for our use, and instead of fighting political battles over "Drug War Policy & Ideology" we need to promote positive public support for medical marijuana.
